Data controller

This policy explains what data we collect in the Suivu app (iOS and Android) and on suivu.fr, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what your rights are.

Data we collect

We only collect what Suivu needs to work. No data is used for advertising, none is sold, and Suivu never tracks you across other apps or websites.

  • Account: email address, username, password (never stored in plain text) and an optional avatar
  • Tracking library: shows and movies you follow, watched episodes, ratings and favorites
  • Social activity: follows between users, comments, reactions, and any reports or blocks you make
  • Support: the content of your messages when you contact us
  • Technical data: your internal account identifier and a technical push-notification token, if you enable notifications
  • Premium subscription: your subscription status and identifier; no banking information ever passes through or is stored by Suivu, as payments are handled directly by the App Store or Play Store

Why we collect this data

  • Running your account and tracking library: performance of the contract between us (our Terms of Service)
  • Social features (follows, comments, reactions): performance of the contract, with privacy settings you control
  • Push notifications (release reminders, news): your consent, given and revocable at any time in the app's settings
  • Support: our legitimate interest in answering your requests
  • Managing your Premium subscription: performance of the contract, together with RevenueCat, Apple and Google
  • Security and moderation (reports, blocks): our legitimate interest in maintaining a healthy environment

How long we keep your data

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete my account, or by emailing us at contact@mathieu-marteau.fr, all of your data — tracking library, social activity, avatar, account information — is permanently and immediately erased.

We keep no billing data: Premium subscription payments are managed and archived by the App Store or Play Store, never by Suivu.

Who receives your data

We never sell your data. A few technical providers process data on our behalf, solely to make Suivu work:

  • Hostinger: hosts our application server and database, in France / European Union
  • RevenueCat: manages the Premium subscription; receives an anonymous technical identifier, never your name or email address
  • Apple and Google (App Store, Google Play, push notifications via Expo Push Service): handle subscription payments and deliver notifications
  • TMDB (The Movie Database): provides the shows and movies catalog; your searches go through our server, and no personal data is ever shared with TMDB
  • Brevo (and, as a backup, Mailjet): sends transactional emails (password reset, confirmations); only your email address is shared with them

Data transfers outside the European Union

Our application server is located in France. Some providers (RevenueCat, Apple, Google, TMDB) are established outside the European Union. Whenever data is transferred to one of them, it is protected by the safeguards required under GDPR, in particular the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Security

All exchanges between the app and our server are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Your password is never stored in plain text. Access to our systems is limited to those who need it to keep Suivu running.

Cookies and trackers

The suivu.fr website does not set any audience-measurement or advertising cookies. The Suivu app contains no advertising SDK and no third-party tracker. Your library data is stored locally on your device so the app works smoothly, including offline.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app (profile, library, account deletion), or by emailing us at contact@mathieu-marteau.fr. We reply within one month.

Complaint to a supervisory authority

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL — 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France — or at cnil.fr.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change, in particular if new features change how we process your data. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. We will notify you in the app or by email of any significant change.
